Sporting activities remain an integral part of Kiwi life and is promoted and supported by the Ministry of Health and many other organisations. The Southern Trust is strongly committed to support this policy through its funding a wide range of community sporting groups.
There are just too many groups to mention and they do vary from large organisations, such as the Bone Marrow Trust and Auckland Zoo, to local community groups, such as guiding and scouting, toy libraries, surf life saving, church and youth groups, local events and festivals and many, many more.
The Southern Trust is a proud sponsor of a number of educational causes, ranging from kindergarten, primary schools, high schools, colleges and other educational establishments. Some of our funding is connected to building and refurbishment, including the funding of playground equipment.
The Southern Trust has historically been involved in the funding of a wide range of arts organisations and programmes, including the funding of one-off festivals and other special arts-related functions, as well as the appropriation of funds to meet the needs of existing cultural and artistic institutions.
