Funding Committees
The Southern Trust has two funding committees.
The board of trustees committee who consider applications over $30,000.
The management committee who consider applications under $30,000.
Board of Trustees committee ($30,000+)
Karen Shea – Trustee & CEO
Karen is one of the original founders of the Trust and brings experience of gaming to the Trust.
Evan Moore – Chairman of the Board of Trustees
Evan, a Dunedin solicitor, joined the board in May 1998 and was appointed chairman in December 2002.
Peter Haslemore– Trustee
Peter works in public health and joined the board of trustees in September 1999. Peter has active roles in sport and the community, especially surf lifesaving.
Ken Lister – Trustee
Ken is an investment broker with one of the countries best known investment advisers and he brings to the board a well rounded commercial experience.
Stewart Harvey – Trustee
Stewart, now a retired accountant, plays an active role in other community groups such as the Historic Cemeteries Conservation Trust of New Zealand and the New Zealand Historic Places Trust – Otago branch.
Management Committee (>$30,000)

Laurel McDonald – Funding Manager
Laurel has been with the Trust since 1998 and has worked in the funding area since 2000. She previously worked for the Department of Internal Affairs.
John Hockaday – Chief Financial Controller
John has been with the Trust since 1999 and previously trained as an accountant in the UK. His work experience in the UK, including senior management positions, covered a variety of industries, from Oil & Gas Exploration to commercial office equipment.
Campbell Wilson – Operations and Compliance Manager
Campbell joined the Trust in 2004. He previously worked for the NZ Police and Department of Internal Affairs.
